For a catalogue of sex offenses against young girls, James Trigwell was sentenced to 5 years 4 months imprisonment and placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register today in the High Court in Glasgow.
The 28 year old had earlier pled guilty to a total of 23 offences against numerous girls aged between 13 and 16 which occurred between June 2011 and September 2012.
The court heard that Trigwell contacted the 21 girls via his Blackberry and encouraged them to participate in sending and receiving sexually explicit images and messages. He also arranged to meet one 13-year-old and attempted to have sex with her.
Speaking after the sentencing, Alison Di Rollo, Head of the National Sexual Crimes Unit said [Trigwell] conducted a protracted campaign of manipulating young girls solely in order to fulfil his own sexual gratification.
“His despicable actions may well leave permanent mental scars on his vulnerable victims,” Ms Di Rollo said.
“I would like urge any victims of sexual crimes, and as in these cases their parents, to come forward and report them. They will be treated with the utmost professionalism and sensitivity by the police and our expert prosecutors around the country and in our National Sexual Crimes Unit, and we will do all we can to deliver justice.”
